Emapaths and INFJ's

I was posting something on my Empath tribes about INFJ similarities to Empaths and I came across a note on the internet:

According to Keirsey, COUNSELORS are most prone of all types to extra sensory perceptions, visions and telepathy.

INFJs are also called THE EMPATH. In earlier classifications they would be members of the IDEALIST group, called APOLLONIAN and Choleric.

I don't have visions as I am more intuitive and empathic (feeling/sensing) - I often pick up others fears, desires and physical ailments as my own. Understanding myself as an INFJ led me to look up the words sensitive and empath and I found that there were other very 'normal' and pragmatic people like me who happened to be sensitives. Have you guys noticed any of this stuff in you? Or do other people say that you always seem to know if they are in trouble, what they are thinking or if something is going on? Do you suddenly switch moods when you are out in public and not understand how it happened? Are you extremely sensitive to environment/food/smells/sounds? I think everyone picks up stuff to a point but some people have their antennas way up and then turned up to TILT -or as some say, running hot (which can then cause a crashing of energy later).

    Michelle,

I do sometimes switch moods out in public because of my secondary function (which is common to all INFJs) extroverted feeling. If the mood of the people around me is excitement, I may get a little excited. If I am not excited where I am going, the mood of others around me does not help much. My point is surrounding emotions and motive can change how you approach different situations, hence heightening your senses, especially if the place you are going is new to you. The fight-or-flight reaction (an instinctual reaction of the body to sudden stress) is prevalent in certain situations we are not comfortable in. Therefore, in certain situations, you may use certain senses at a certain level that is way above normal, and pick up emotions others can't-especially you being an INFJ.
