It doesn't imply a judgemental parental god but rather it implies a creative God a bit like William Shakespere as writer and directors, and we are a cast of actors so good in our roles that while we live and play the roles we forget who we are when we're off stage. But in the end, when the curtain falls, the villians and the heros are not seperated into good and evil, one rewarded and the other punished eternally. Rather they are revealed to be neither good nor evil, just actors playing a part for a story, and there will be other plays where they will play other roles so well they forget who they are again. That's my beleif, not in a literal sense, but the analogy helps to express what I mean. I definitely believe in a higher power, but I'm not entirely sure how to define it. I believe that it's benevolent, since I've had a lot of little experiences in my life that serve to confirm than belief. Beyond that I'm not so sure. I try to keep an open mind, and I have a lot of ideas about how I think things work, but they do get updated and occasionally discarded or added to. Mostly I believe that none of us has an exclusive handle on the Truth. I believe every religion has a glimpse of the Truth, but that the Ultimate Reality (don't you just love how convenient capital letters are sometimes?) is likely something more complicated that we realize. Quite possibly more complicated than we're even capable of understanding.
