mewithoutyou has intensity of emotion and poetic lyrics and it's so different from the typical type of music i'm drawn to, but there's something about it that gets deep in me.

sufjan stevens for his lyrics which are picturesque and sensitive and reflective.

any songs that begin slowly, then build in intensity and volume, and then decrease again. so cathartic for me.

music that doesn't at all do it for me: classical and jazz!

i like rock and classical, some punk and 80s music. the music has to engage my emotions!

The cello moves me. I really love Les Nubians, Rufus Wainwright, Jamiroquai, The Indigo Girls, Bob Marley, k.d. lang, Ben Folds, Nelli McKay is a riot, & latest ear crush on Jason Mraz. Like Louis Armstrong, Chopin, old timey bluegrass & Elizabethan jaunty tunes. Did Mozart write anything that wasn't sacred? Van Morrison, JONI MITCHELL is a priestess, & Sting, Annie Lennox too. Maurice Chevalier is an exuberant jolt.

Classical, old school RnB (l love Donnell Jones and Joe), jazz. I normally do not like anything too loud nor fast, like some rap and some rock (slow rock ok tho), but I've recently discovered Christian rap (Lecrae, Trip Lee, etc...they're just amazing people) because they're on a whole different level than regular rap music out there. I just started listening to them and they blew me away 'cuz they're so young and talented, and using that talent in such a great way. Other artists I like: Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Sarah Mclaclan, Micheal Buble, Hillsong, Chrisette Michele, Mario, Ashe Watson, Anjre Riley, etc. Pretty much anything meaningful.
