Someone put on movies that INFJs love, here are some that should piss off INFJs especially:
Twilight
Meet the Spartans
The more recent Scary Movies
other movies that have the word movie in the title (Epic Movie, Date Movie, Superhero Movie)
all the Saw movies
other pointlessly violent movies like Hostel
Some of Will Farrell's movies (Bewitched)
Pretty much any Queen Latifah movies (Last Holiday)
Stereotypical action movies where the guy's wife or family is captured and he wants revenge (Observe and Report with Harrison Ford)
Stupid movies with Disney channel/ Nickelodeon singers that are made into actors or actors made into singers somehow (Hannah Montana Concert movie that was not even a movie, The Crossroads starring Britney Spears)

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Thu, July 16, 2009 - 11:08 PMWhat is the reason to be angry about these movies? I don't know most of them so don't know what the connection is.
Although I'm not fond of a few of them here (that I do recognize) I never thought about being pissed off by them...do they dis INFJ's in some way or are they just obnoxious? -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 7:18 AMJust the fact that money was wasted on them and the terrible lack of originality in them along with terrible acting should piss one off. The fact that the people who make these movies make money on them should piss one off.
But, then again, if it was not for these bad movies we could not appreciate good movies.
They do not diss INFJs. It just seems that they just are made in an attempt to cater to the typical American population, which appears as though its standards have gone down. Since INFJs are relatively rare in the American population (or so it appears, they could be hiding), INFJs probably might be a little pissed off at these movies. I was.
But, then again, I think too deeply on things. -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 7:30 AMMovie's I can't stand are dumb comedies - but I still love Family Guy and Robot Chicken. Maybe if the humor's dumb, it needs to play out in a creative way. I think I like FG and RC because the humor goes in unexpected directions. I can tell you one movie that i can believe I wasted money on from the video store: Borat. So DUMB! Bruno looks equally as....well, dumb. Don't waste my time. -

Fri, July 17, 2009 - 7:57 AMI agree with everything you say Nat. Robot Chicken and Family Guy are awesome. Borat, though I have not seen it, sounds, looks, feels, and smells terrible along with Bruno. But, unfortunately, everyone seems to think they are great. You know what was also bad, Burn After Reading. If it was not supposed to be a comedy, it could be half-way decent. The fact that it was played off like a comedy made it awful. Made it through 30 minutes of it.

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 7:34 AMI got an hour into Twilight, and couldn't take it. I got 5 pages into the book, and couldn't get any further. Everyone insisted it was great, though. What's more annoying is the main character is so much like me (in a very flattened-character way), that I should like it...but what a horrible movie/book!
I don't like any of the others, either. They don't necessarily piss me off, but I wouldn't spend money on them.
Yesterday on TV was a movie I watched just briefly - long enough to catch the rape scene that I feel really should have been edited. Way too graphic. Especially for being on daytime TV! I was having a panic attack just watching it...imagine a young girl seeing that. That pissed me off! -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 2:30 PMI actually really liked the Twilight series/saga. I was hesitant to read it because I'm usually not into fiction but I liked the way the author described things. I didn't even try to compare the movie to it because you rarely can. Not everything can be in the movie. One of my favorite books is Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. HE was a mastermind. I can't even imagine putting that much detail into a story. The movies were incredible but to be factual to the tale, they would have been twice as long.

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 3:52 PMI liked the first Saw film (when it was first released). I have not seen anything else mentioned on your list. I don't understand being pissed off about blockbuster movies...if you are not interested in them, don't watch them. Why invest emotion in something that is meaningless anyway. -

Fri, July 17, 2009 - 10:05 PMGood point Siieveh. I figured I would take the hit of watching them to see how they are so as to save other people's emotions and possibly lives. -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 11:03 AMAlthough I've never gotten pissed over a movie that was made I have gotten annoyed at myself for spending money on a few movies I've seen on the big screen. So, if it's 'iffy' I wait for the DVD - then I have power over the FF (or can leave the room).
**"I figured I would take the hit of watching them to see how they are so as to save other people's emotions and possibly lives."**
Good luck there Ed. That's really nice of you but if INFJs are rare then probably so are our preferences. As for movies like Borat, generally my friends are good at telling me, "This is not your kind of movie!" Although, with that one I didn't have to be told only had to read about it. Some people said they really enjoyed it...maybe enjoy wasn't the word maybe they just said they laughed through it. -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 11:28 AMI couldn't hardly watch Borat. It still haunts me. *shudder
I actually really liked Twilight but not till the end. I really couldn't stand the 2 main characters at first, the presentation seemed very over the top. I am starting the books so we will see how that goes.
I can't watch scary movies, horrors ect because I have a hard time separating reality and fantasy and if it's something that could remotely happen in real life it's just going to totally freak me out into paranoid insomnia. Seriously. As a child I saw some movie where a scary-
' things comes up the bath drain and to this day I have to check behind the shower curtain, close the toilet seat and even while showering I think " OMG ...could something come up through that?" It's ridiculous.
I do however love "Anaconda", it's so ridiculously funny. Plus I'm not scared of snakes so.
I actually was very disappointed with the more recent XFiles movie.
I'm addicted to netflix so I am always watching something, I used to do Blockbuster and such but I find that there is no way I can turn in a movie ( or library book) on time. Love Netflix though!
Watching the "True Blood" series. It annoys me but it's like a train wreck, I just can't look away : /

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 1:09 PMI was disappointed with X-Files movie too. Maybe it's day has passed or the writers day has passed. I really monitor what I'll let my brain/emotions watch...kind of like I watch the type of food I put in my body. Don't need to add to the stress of my system by a movie that will not serve it (course what will serve it depends on how I'm feeling at the time). Horror, intense fear and anytime a movie is drawing something out with music or timing that makes it obvious they are trying to control my senses, I stay away from.
Tried to watch the movie 'Sideways' mostly because I grew up in that area. Husband walked out after the first 20 minutes. He said, "Why would I want to watch a movie about a man screwing around on his fiance." I FF through it to see the scenery but the story didn't do much for me either...but then again a lot of people though it was great. Different strokes... -

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 10:14 PMI also didn't like Borat. I generally love comedies in all forms but not that. Don't know why but I just didn't. I enjoyed Twilight though. The characters were kind of silly but the story was good. I'm a sucker for retarded teen movies though.
For the most part, I'm pretty picky with movies. I didn't grow up watching tons of movies thanks to my parents not owning a VCR, so what I watched was either at the theater, my friend's, or on TV. There's a lot of movies I don't like but generally, I know within 10 minutes if I want to waste my time. Any film that has excessive shit being blown up with no plot line is an instant "NO" for me. If there's a great story, I love it, but otherwise I'll just shut it off. I don't care what movie, it just has to have a great story line.

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Tue, July 28, 2009 - 7:35 AMHaven't seen or read the Twilight stuff, but Sarah's read the books and from what she's told me I doubt I would like it. The characters sound too whiny and selfish for my tastes. Life isn't always roses kids, and you can't always get what you want. Deal with it. And stop making stupid choices.
I don't mind "stupid" movies. I actually thought Borat was pretty funny from a psychological standpoint. It's interesting to see how differently people react to someone who is so alien to their way of thinking. I admire the patience of the manager in the supermarket. "What's this?" "Cheese". "And this?" "Cheese". "This one?" "That's also cheese." Totally unflappable."
While there have been a number of movies and characters that have annoyed me, the worst offender to me was Titanic. I hated that movie. I was very unsympathetic to the characters, and when the ship sank my thoughts were, "Good. Serves you right. Shame the girl didn't croak, too." To me the whole movie was about, "Gee, look how great it is to make irresponsible choices and not think about anyone but myself." Perhaps that's a somewhat extreme reaction to the movie ;)
Harry Potter I can take or leave. The character is okay, but even he seems a bit whiny to me, too. Generally he's able to suck it up and deal with things, though, so he's tolerable. I'm more annoyed at Rowlings than anything else, since the last book had some rather unnecessary character killing. By unnecessary, I mean that it didn't add anything to the story. It's almost as if she added, "Oh, and so-and-so and so-and-so died, too."
I refused to even watch the Saw movies.
It's not the scariness that bothers me. My favorite kind of story involves some kind of ultimate struggle between good and evil. The greater the conflict, the better. I like a lot of Stephen King's stuff for that reason. I like Robert R. McCammon, too, although none of his stuff has made it to the movies. Stoker's "Dracula" is one of my favorite books, and the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" movie was actually pretty close to the book. I just don't care for things that are scary and gory just for the sake of being scary and gory. -

LOL! Waylon, I've never thought about it in this way, you've opened my eyes, lol. I think that way with Steven Segal movies or mafia movies...just take them all out and let it be over and done so I can leave the theater. I like to go to a movie to add something to my life or energize me if my brain is foggy - not really looking for 'reality.' I like clever intrigue that is intricate enough that I can't figure them out - happened with The Usual Suspect (well I did figure it out but not until it was almost over)

Love that Titanic response. That movie was total stupid infatuation and added salt to an already infected societal infatuatory wound. -

Wow, that was a strong statement...almost felt painful... actually it did feel painful - salt on a wound...aggghhh! My favorite part of the movie was the orchestra playing the music as the ship went down. That's what I'd like to think I'd be doing - C'est la vie...O'course that's when others around me were crying but my heart felt so open and alive and it felt beautiful...a flowing back to the great unknown... Don't remember if I had any other strong thoughts on that movie though. -

Thu, July 30, 2009 - 8:58 PMI apologize for the pain Waylon, but not for my statement. I meant every word of it. I can't believe that is the number one grossing movie of all time. Just goes to show you how truly screwed up American society has become.

Re: Movies that should piss you off
Sat, August 1, 2009 - 3:51 PMHas anyone seen Watchmen? It's 3 hours and I passed out twice and finally gave up about 20 minutes before the end. I heard about how violent and sexually graphic it was and it was just BORING. It was a baby shower compared to any Quetin Tarantino movie. I just felt like 3 hours of character development left me asking what the plot and point was and I just thought the energy put into dissecting human nature and self destructive tendencies in this film was more like redundant common sense and overkill. It just seemed like a lot of the movies "ah ha" moments were more like "DUH" moments.
